A Rose For Emily 2009

Concept

I created this painting after reading “A Rose for Emily”. In this story, the main character is a high-born family, and she is facing the prosecution because of the cross-class marriage. I want to use this painting to raise the issue of cross-culture marriage and the pressure those people facing. The skeleton in the painting is begging for the forgiveness, while the lady in the right trying to close her ears and escape from the reality.
